About

Snowdonia Climbing is run by Mike Laing, a native of Snowdonia who has been climbing for 20 years. His mountaineering career took off in the Army where he served 16 years in the Royal Welch Fusiliers. Much of that time was spent gaining mountaineering qualifications, leading rock climbing and mountaineering expeditions Worldwide and teaching basic mountaineering skills to junior soldiers.

On leaving the Army in 2006, Mike decided to return to his home and embark on a full-time career in the outdoors and thus, founded Snowdonia Climbing. Mike holds the Mountaineering Instructor (MIA) and Mountain Leader Winter (MLW) Awards as well as Mountain/Outdoor and Expedition First Aid Certificates. Mike is also a member of South Snowdonia Search And Rescue Team (SSSART).

Snowdonia Climbing only uses professionally qualified instructors whose wealth of experience ensures that your progress is structured and paced to your current abilities. Their informed feedback and developmental advice will allow you to take stock and set your sights further.

You may have noticed that the website carries links to Medecins Sans Frontieres which is an independent humanitarian medical aid agency. Snowdonia Climbing directly supports the work of Medecins Sans Frontieres by donating 5% of profits to the agency.
