Snowdonia Climbing is run by Mike Laing, a native of Snowdonia who has been climbing for 20 years. His mountaineering career took off in the Army where he served 16 years in the Royal Welch Fusiliers. Much of that time was spent gaining mountaineering qualifications, leading rock climbing and mountaineering expeditions Worldwide and teaching basic mountaineering skills to junior soldiers.
On leaving the Army in 2006, Mike decided to return to his home and embark on a full-time career in the outdoors and thus, founded Snowdonia Climbing. Mike holds the Mountaineering Instructor (MIA) and Mountain Leader Winter (MLW) Awards and is thus qualified to instruct all aspects of rock climbing, both single and multi-pitch, plus scrambling in summer conditions as well as lead hill walking groups in summer and winter conditions. Additionally, Mike holds a Mountain/Outdoor First Aid Certificate. and is a member of South Snowdonia Search And Rescue Team (SSSART).
Snowdonia Climbing only uses professionally qualified instructors whose wealth of experience ensures that your progress is structured and paced to your current abilities. Their informed feedback and developmental advice will allow you to take stock and set your sights further.
