Winter Walking
Hill walking in winter is both highly rewarding and challenging. The short winter days and harsher, more variable conditions, demand much more in terms of organisation, planning, area selection and personal determination than is required in summer. Snowdonia Climbing offers guided winter walking and Essential Winter Walking Skills courses.
Guided winter walking is available, on request, throughout the winter season in Snowdonia, the Lake District and Scotland. Ice axes and crampons are provided as is tuiton in self belay, ice axe arrest and use of crampons. The cost for guiding is £150 per day for a group of up to up to 4 people.
Snowdonia Climbing does not offer winter climbing courses though for such activities recommends Ian Whitehead (MIC) at High Trek.
