Altimeter Navigation

Altimeters are now embedded in all manner of devices and they can be a key aid to effective navigation in the mountains. Our 1-day altimeter navigation courses will allow experienced mountaineers to get the most out of their altimeter enabled devices. These courses are conducted outdoors on the hill and will cover altimeter calibration, weather prediction, contouring and traversing, relocation, slope aspect, hazard avoidance and altimeter limitations. Please note that our altimeter navigation courses involve advanced techniques and are suitable only for those experienced in general mountain navigation.
