Learn to Lead Climb
Most climbers aspire to lead for themselves. This comprehensive course will give the experienced second and those with limited experience of leading, the skills, experience and judgement required to do so commensurate with their current climbing ability. The aim will be to climb as much as possible, firstly on single pitch then multi-pitch routes. Concurrently you will be taught and coached in the new skills; placing protection, belay systems, building belays, rope management, leading with single and double ropes, stance management, abseil organisation, route selection and route finding, problem solving and mental preparation.
The course duration will allow skill aquisition and then more importantly, consolidation of these skills so you can feel confident in your ability to lead climb across a wide range of scenarios.
